290. Thomas King Hanna, Chester CT, 1872-1951, Placid Ocean, oil on board, 12" x 16", signed, old expo labels from Old Lyme, Salmagundi & others. (400-600)

Member of the Old Lyme Art Association, and student of Kenyon Cox, Irving Wiles, Charles Reinhardt, and John Carlson at Yale University. Began his career as a magazine illustrator before turning exclusively to fine arts. One of Hanna's paintings hangs in Australia's National Gallery of Art in Sydney.

291. Redmond Stephens Wright, CA, 1903-1991, Harbor With Many Sailboats, etching, 7½" x 11¾", pencil signed & numbered 5/50. (200-400)

Etcher, portrait painter, muralist. Born in Chicago, IL on May 13, 1903. Wright studied at Harvard University, AIC, and with Edouard Leon in Paris. He was active in Chicago and NYC during the 1930s. By 1937 he had settled in Pasadena and taught at the Pasadena Art Institute and San Gabriel Valley Art Center.
