Louis XV period French marble top commode, formerly of the Romanoff's Winter Palace in St Petersburg, two-drawer bombe form, rosewood with inlaid panels to drawer fronts and sides, brass mounts to top and bottom of legs and front skirt, beautifully grained pink and cream marble with black accents, ogee cut top with corner accents, top signed AFR in four styles, 34"h x 42"w x 22"d, expected veneer losses, overall excellent condition. Handel Teroca overlay Arts and Crafts table lamp, eight-paneled shade of mottled amber and cream slag glass with detailed lattice work to skirt in design of green oak leaves and red-brown acorns. Shade marked Handel Lamps, 18"d, excellent condition. The Handel base is a classic A&C form in a rich red-brown and green patina, three-socket top with acorn pulls, replaced cord. Handel Arts and Crafts table lamp, stunning reverse painted chipped-ice shade with six large burgundy, olive green and tan chrysanthemum blossoms with olive green leaves each culminating into a black linear decoration at shade opening, all on a tan and muted yellow background. Shade signed Handel 3167, B., 12.5"d, total height is 20", expected minor paint flaking and minor roughness to bottom rim, terrific condition. The base, marked Handel, is in a strong A&C design of overlapping leaves with a classic reeded stem. Gooseneck, two-socket top with acorn pulls, newly replaced cord. 2,500-3,500

Outstanding pair of c.1825 American slate-topped flip-top tables, tops painted in exquisite details of tole style floral bouquets with a variety of blossoms, gold painted vines, scrolls and thatch work to table borders and stems, three-leg base with turned stem and under-finial, New York attribution, 37"h flipped up, 27.5"h down, 18" x 17" top, paint and patina are superb with minor wear to gold, one top has been reattached to slate years ago, some replaced screws to flip mechanism. 4,000-6,000
337. Important carved walnut six-legged settee. Crown of sculpted top rail with fully relief carved cherub flanked by two young girls faces with flowing hair with pear and leaf adornments and two finials. Five back supports, center support has two pierce-carved griffins flanking a center cartouche in a nut pod design, four remaining supports are back-to-back griffins with trailing leaves. Uprights have acanthus leaves, bead work and floral medallions, carved skirt with two open-mouthed grotesque gargoyles. Settee is carved front and rear. Original finish, seat recovered in gold upholstery. Exceptional, dramatic settee. 35"h x 45"w x 19"d. 2,000-3,000
338. Fully carved walnut desk, finely detailed carvings on all sides. Drawer fronts with Man in the Mountain, vines and leaves, crown with shield medallion, leaves and geometric and floral edging. Dramatic bare-breasted full griffins with twisting tails and fierce faces support desk top. The sides have Man in the Mountain, shells, scrolls and basket-weave edging. Rear: Top panel with acanthus leaves, Man in the Mountain and grotesque faces, a large center panel with flamed-finial atop large urn flanked by two full standing griffins, two hairy paw feet at each corner.
