J.J. Enwright is one of the pseudonyms of artist Hjalmar "Cappy" Amundsen. He is best known for his harbor paintings in New York and Massachusetts. He was one of the founders of the Washington Square Art Show in New York, and painted covers for Motor Boating Magazine.

347. John Joseph Enneking, Boston, 1841-1916, Landscape with cabin and stream under colorful sunset, oil on canvas, 13" x 17", back of stretcher is inscribed PAINTING By JJ ENNEKING. Later handwriting on reverse of frame identifies this as a J.J. Enneking painting that the artist did not sign because he gave it to a friend, and that there is a copy in the Gloucester Library. 1,500-2,500

An important American Impressionist who worked with Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Corot and Millet. His influence on Boston painters encouraged many to travel to France to study French Impressionism. Enneking was born in Minster, OH, and spent some time in Cincinnati.

Hunter Wood was born on Long Island, the son of the marine painter Worden George Wood who served aboard the Clipper "Yankee" in the Spanish-American War and the great-grandson of John L. Worden who commanded the "Monitor" in its fight against the "Merrimac" in the Civil War. Wood served in the Merchant Marine, and his paintings reflect this background.

Conner worked in the art department of MGM and other studios, and is a well-listed painter of desert landscapes, missions, seascapes, and cowboy-Indian genre.

A well-listed artist with high auction records, Richards specialized in coastal scenes. His depictions of waves and their effects on sandy beaches are particularly prized. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Association of Advanced Truth in Art, London Royal Academy, and the American Watercolor Society.

A member of the Salmagundi Club and the Society of Independent Artists, Brown studied at the National Academy of Design, the Academie Julian, and the Academy Colarossi. He studied under William Bouguereau, and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Society of Independent Artists, and the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis.

Known as Chicago's Cowboy Painter, Reedy studied at the Chicago Art Institute and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He traveled extensively in the American West.

Born in Milwaukee, Ned Mueller lived and worked in several western states. He studied at the Art Center of Design in Los Angeles, and worked as an illustrator for twenty-five years including work with Disney.

Born in Louisville, KY, Girardin studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati under Thomas Noble and Frank Duveneck. He spent many years in Richmond, IN, and was active in the establishment of the Art Association of Richmond.

Baker was a well-known Indiana landscape painter, a member of the Richmond Group. He studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and the Richmond Art Museum presented a retrospective exhibition of his works in 2001.
